The boys

Now that Lillie and I are outnumbered by the boys I thought I would share some pictures of what 'the boys' have been up to!

This is Titus discovering that if he would hold Zethan's hand Zethan would hold on to his also. He was so excited! He held his hand all the way home from AWANA. It was pretty cute. When he saw that I was going take his picture he decided to have a really cheesy grin=) What a goof!

And here is Daddy playing with his two boys! Titus is trying to figure out why Zethan isn't playing!

Oh well, I guess that means he gets Daddy all to himself! Titus just can't leave Daddy alone when he is home. He loves playing with him and running around and just monkeying around with Daddy!

But all that play time really wears them out though! Zethan is just snoozing away and Titus isn't too far from there! It'll be so fun to see how much alike and also how different these two brothers will be!

Zethan Matthew Veer

Here are a few pictures of the new addition to our family! We are so proud and happy and thankful to have our little baby in arms and have him healthy and well! Everything went really well and we had an excellent nurse who really new what she was doing and how to keep things moving and we were so thankful for her! Thanks Matt for being there for me again and keeping me going and thanks Mom for all your help and especially staying the night so I could rest more! And thanks everyone for praying for us! We can't wait to show him off to everyone=)
Here is a picture of me taken 3 days before the baby was born. Definitely ready to get that little boy out!

And here he is!! Born on April 21, 2009. Weighing 7 lbs 13 ozs and 19 1/2 inches long!

Sweet New Baby Boy!

Big Brother Titus came for a visit but was mostly interested in playing with Papa!

And here is Grandma with a proud big sis Lillie! She was full of questions at the hospital and wasn't too sure of having my in a hospital gown in the bed with an IV in. She was really glad when we finally got to be home!

Aunt Kayla (my sister) and cousin Emily!

Getting read to go home from the hospital. Just waiting for the nurse to get the security band off of his foot so we can get his clothes changed!

A rare shot of his eyes open=)

We're home!! He's so little in his big car seat!

Just relaxing after eating!

Lillie just loves to hold him! We are trying to teach her to keep her arm under his neck-she is doing pretty good!

Titus likes his baby brother too! He makes me a little more nervous than Lillie does holding him=)
I guess Titus really isn't the baby anymore.

It looks like Titus is trying to put the paci in his mouth but actually he DID NOT want him to have it. Titus loves his little mouth and would just giggle every time Zethan opened it!

We love you little baby Z!!

Pillows + Blankets + Animals=FUN!!

The weather has been so nice the last few days that Lillie and Titus have pretty much played outside all the time! They have so much fun with Princess their little dog and of course they had to drag all their own stuffed animals outside too. First Lillie started out with just taking a blanket out there, then she decided she needed her big fish, then maybe a few more animals and a few more pillows. Pretty soon, Titus comes in the house and goes up to room. He comes down with one of his pillows and when I give him a questioning look he looks at me and kind of cocks his head to one side and says ‘Nigh, night, ‘side (outside) kay (okay)?’ I didn’t really want his pillow out in the yard but he was just too cute and I couldn’t tell him no=)

They really had fun! Oh and as you can tell by the picture Titus is only wearing a diaper. He started out with shorts on but for some reason I guess he thought he didn’t need them. He came in the house and started taking them off. I asked him “What are you doing?” His simple reply-- “Pants off, kay” And that was that and out he went again!

Baby?

We are just waiting and waiting for this labor thing to get started but it doesn’t seem like our baby wants to come out any time soon. He is perfectly content in there. My official due date is tomorrow so we’ll see what happens. I saw the doctor on Wednesday and I was dilated to about a 2 ½. But still no labor so he scheduled me to be induced on Tuesday, April 21 if I don’t go into labor before then. I’m getting pretty anxious and with each contraction or Braxton hick, I am always wondering, is it happening?!?

I know that Matt is getting pretty anxious about the arrival of number 3 as well! I know I couldn’t ask for a better partner in helping me give birth! He has done so absolutely fantastic with the first two! He keeps me focused and does all the breathing with me so I don’t forget=) I know I couldn’t do it without him. He is almost as wiped out as I am by the time it’s over. Almost=)

Lillie was born almost a week late. That was also a scheduled induction since she didn’t seem to want to be born either=) We got to the hospital early that morning and they started the pitocin drip at around 9:00 in the morning. The contractions weren’t too bad until after 12:00 noon. Then they started to get more intense. It was time to push around 5:00. She was born at Wesley Medical Center on March 17, 2005 at about 5:35pm. Her birthday is St. Patricks Day!

Titus was born 2 days early. My water broke an hour or so before midnight but not really any contractions. We went ahead and went to the Wesley Birth Care Center and were admitted since my water had broke. I walked up and down the halls seemingly for hours and hours trying to get things moving along but the contractions weren’t really becoming very regular so they went ahead and started me on Pitocin to get the contractions going better. Once they got going they really got going though, and the nurse didn’t really even have time to call the doctor to tell him it was time to deliver! My nurse, who was absolutely great, is the one who actually delivered Titus! He was born on January 29, 2007 at about 10:15 am. And his birthday is Kansas Day!

So now, I am wondering what the story will be for this little one. We are planning on having him at the Wesley Birth Care Center which is across the street from the main Wesley hospital. I am ready to have him but I also know that once the contractions really get going I am going to be thinking ‘Wait, wait, wait, maybe another day’ =)

So now back to just waiting…

For some reason Lillie and Titus both thought they needed to sit on my lap to watch their movie. There isn’t much room left! They are both excited for a new baby brother. Well, Titus doesn’t really understand but Lillie is very excited. She’s going to be a great help!

At our church, Newton Bible Church, we always have a sunrise service and then we have a breakfast served by the hostess committee. It is usually biscuits and gravy and then some fruit and coffee cake. It is delicious!! I know that Matt always looks forward to it every year! This year we didn’t make it to the sunrise service but we definitely made it for the breakfast! The kids both devoured their food and I'm pretty sure Matt went up for at least seconds!

Then for Easter lunch we were at my Grandma Nusz’s house this year and it was lots of fun with most all the family being able to make it! Grandma always has each family get their picture taken so it was fun that Lillie and Titus wore their outfits from Natalie and Garrett’s wedding. Of course it was right after church and they hadn’t eaten yet so they were a little cranky and neither of them would smile. Oh well, that family picture is soon to be outdated with the arrival of our new baby!

The kids got to look for Easter eggs after lunch so that was a high light. Titus kind of cheated and started while they were still hiding the eggs=) But he would always get so excited each time he found one!

Here is a picture of Matt and Titus. Titus just loves his Daddy! I thought they both looked so cute dressed up! Titus with his suit and Matt with his new shirt! Also Titus just got his buzz cut so that just added to his cute look=) I just love them both!

I’m not sure what Titus is going to think when his baby brother comes though. He won’t be the only little boy wanting the attention of his Daddy. He kind of has his daddy wrapped around his little finger right now! If it comes down to either Mommy or Daddy doing something for or with Titus, Daddy is always the preference!

Matt really is such a good Dad! He does great giving Lillie and Titus both attention and playing with both of them! And he even has time for his wife! Between farming, working on the house, working in the yard, 2-almost 3 kids, and a wife, Matt doesn’t have a whole lot of extra time. But he balances it so well!

Happy Easter!

Here comes the Bride!

This past Saturday was quite an eventful day! Matt's sister Natalie got married to Garrett Klaassen! It was a super fun day for everyone! We all got to get dressed up and be fancy for the day! Lillie along with Garrett's niece were the flower girls and Titus along with Garrett's nephew were the ring bearers. They were all so cute dressed up in their suits and dresses. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera out hardly at all so I only have a select few pictures=( Hopefully I'll be able to get some more from some friends!
It was such a great day for the wedding! The weather was warm, even if it was windy, thanks Kansas=) The church was decorated so pretty and the gym was made over for the perfect reception. Instead of the usual wedding cake she had candy/dessert tables. One table was pink and one table was white. Each with the candy and desserts being, of course, either pink or white! So much fun! They had to do a lot of searching to find candy in specific colors! But it turned out wonderfully!

Here is Titus in his suit with little blue tie on. He was just too cute! I didn't even have a picture of Lillie in her dress, so I guess I'll have to post again when I have a picture of her!

Here I am trying to get some food in before we have to go take pictures!

I was really hoping to get more pictures but it was kind of crazy trying to get ready and get Lillie's hair done and dress on and make sure Titus had the right color of vest and tie on and keeping them from getting food all over their nice clothes and keeping them from running off. Especially Titus likes to run off to wherever he pleases=)
The wedding started at 1:00 but we were doing pictures of course before then so the little kids were all getting pretty tired. Titus didn't want to walk with the other kids when they came in so we bribed him with wedding mints! I think they are his favorite candy now! Him and Lillie and and the other flower girl and ring bearer all did really good walking in and going right to their spot. They had a piece of tape where they were supposed to stand. During the first prayer I gave Titus some smarties to keep him occupied but then Lillie wanted them to so she took some of Titus's and that made him start crying so Daddy had to come to the rescue! Titus didn't last very long! And Lillie kept moving around. Standing by me, standing on the step, sitting on the step, sitting with Grandma. But Sophie and Aiden, the other kids sat perfect the entire time! I should have bribed Lillie and Titus with whatever their mom did=)

All in all it really came together well! Congratulations Garrett and Natalie!
