Lillie is just turning into quite the little lady. Matt and I were just talking about how much she is growing up and maturing and how we need to be making sure to cultivate and bring out all the good, Godly characteristics He has placed in her.
She has been so kind and helpful lately. She is very perceptive to pick up on the different vibes that are going on in our house. She seems to realize that maybe a little extra help here and there is greatly appreciated. She willingly will jump up and get a heating pad or ice pack for her Daddy's back or run out and turn off the cattle tank water if need be. Or search high and low for her little brother's blankie when it is lost.
She absolutely loves our family prayer time and to be completely honest, if it weren't for her prompting, we would probably not be having it as regularly as we have been. She very much has a child like faith and her prayers are so blunt and straight forward.
She will be starting 2nd grade this year and will be going back to regular school instead of homeschool. Even before all of this came about with the new baby, we thought that it would be best to have her back in a school setting. I can definitely tell a difference in her attitude towards me as we have been in "summer" mode and not "home school" mode. It had been at the point where it was just not even fun and we seemed to constantly be at odds.
She is creative and crafty. She just talked me into letting her make some earrings after I had been at a crafting party with some friends and came home with some that I had made. She was very excited about getting to create her own!
She is also very giving. She loves to make or draw things for people she loves. She has been working on friendship bracelets and has enjoyed giving those out!
We are blessed to have her as our daughter and are excited to see what all God is going to use her for!
