A Few of my Favorites

A few of my favorite things right now...


A hand held milk frother. Yes it may be just another kitchen gadget but it sure turns an ordinary cup of hot chocolate into a delightfully fun treat! And it is the lowest price of most frothers out there. You can also use it to froth milk up to make lattes and other yummy things! Zethan likes drinking the warm frothed milk on its own! And if you have never tasted Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate and you are a hot chocolate drinker, you are missing out. I only bought this here because I had a gift card, so I didn't feel as guilty spending so much. I will be trying my hand at making up my own when I run out. Which won't take too long.


Now for something fun and easy to take along in your purse. Or pocket. Or glove compartment. Or wherever. Ice breaker Sours. They are delicious. Especially the mixed berry, strawberry, cherry ones! But really they are all good. Matt loves them. And is known to steal them from my purse on occasion.

Another item for the kitchen. Mugs. In teal. And yellow. Perfect for my kitchen! I bought mine individually at Target but really who couldn't use more mugs! And a decent price. Only a couple bucks a piece. They sell them in sets of 8 online, not by themselves. What I really love about them is that there is plenty of room for your coffee, (or hot chocolate) and your creamer!

So that's all I can think of right now!

Bean Bales

This is a catch-up post. Because of the crazy hot, dry summer, the soybeans didn't make much this year. We decided to bale them up instead. It was an exciting day!

Joel Mac, who swathed and baled them for us, came over at about 4 in the morning to get started. I guess that is the time when the dew point and the temperature were closest, so the bales would go together the best. And praise the Lord, there were many more bales than we anticipated! Matt couldn't keep up bringing them in from the field!

We had three stacks like this of bean bales! Amazing! God really provided, even in a time of drought.

Meal Ideas {e-mealz}

As every wife/mother knows, it is easy to get into a rut when coming up with new meals for your family. Lately, I have been in such a boring slump with meals. Macaroni & cheese. Hamburgers. Spaghetti. Pancakes. A few different soups. The same few things over and over.

So in an attempt to get a little more creative I subscribed to e-mealz after seeing a review of it on another blog. I know it may seem a little silly to pay someone to tell me what food to make. But sometimes, you just need that extra little help to get going. You know?

For me, part of coming up with meals, is that I don't always have the groceries on hand when I think of a meal to make. Or when I was at the grocery store, I didn't have a crucial ingredient written on my list And being 25 minutes from a grocery store, I can't just run in to get stuff for one meal.

E-mealz, let's you choose what grocery store you use, then comes up with weekly meal plans (based on sales) and has a grocery list for you. That part is what I really love. (And for only $1.25 a week, they do the work of planning) They tell me what to get and what to make. So easy! And now, we will have a little more variety in what we eat.
